Climate Pastoral Care Training - May 28th 2019

22 Jan 2019 by Briony Griffiths in: Presbytery News

Ministers, Priests, Chaplains, Pastoral Care Practitioners and Church Leaders - this one is for you!

Church members - you want your minister to come to this!

Did you know that Climate Change is increasing individual and societal anxiety, depression, existential dread and solastalgia?

Have you experienced the increased conflict it can create in couples, families and congregations?

Australians are worried about climate change, what it means for their own futures, and what it means for the health and safety of their children. They are looking for hope and support in these difficult times.

This training, including experts from around Australia, will be an opportunity to share experiences of climate anxiety you have encountered, and to discuss how best to provide pastoral care in an age of climate change and global ecological destruction.

This will be a full, one day event in Sydney, with an additional free evening public lecture open to the public. The program will be available soon.
