Easter Egg Hunt at Ginninderry

From Rev Karyl Davison
Minister - Kippax Uniting Church

On the Friday prior to Easter, Aimee Kent and Karyl Davison (ministers at Kippax), with the help some congregation members and a couple of UnitingCare Kippax staff members, ran an Easter Egg Hunt for about 80 children plus adults in the new park out at Ginninderry.

As well as the easter egg hunt, which involved finding creatures from the Ginninderry Conservation Corridor ‘hidden’ around the park, children were able to paint wooden easter eggs, make God’s eyes, create charcoal rubbings and plant snow peas.  We also served hot cross buns.

We had lots of opportunities for making connections and conversation with residents of Ginninderry and look forward to more joint events in the coming years.

This event is a great example of a fresh expression of church, and one of the ways we are living out our mission to share God’s good news to people outside of our church community.  It follows the gifting of almost 200 Christmas angels to many of the residents of the Ginninderra and Ginninderry housing developments last Christmas.
